Serial entrepreneur turned small business consultant and virtual assistant.  That’s me in a nutshell.

When I started working in the corporate world, I found my niche in catering and event planning.  It was the perfect role for a type A Virgo like myself.  But after 10 years in the industry on the West Coast, working for large hotels, a government agency and for UBC, I needed a new challenge.

In 2005 I started an online party favors business and was instantly hooked.  That company grew into an online wholesale business where we supplied custom party favors to the biggest online retailers in the US, Canada and internationally.  We survived and thrived in the recession of 2008 and 2009 and I was able to bring my husband on full-time along with several part-time staff.  We ran a profitable business and learned everything we could along the way from shipping and logistics; sourcing and buying products from overseas; social media and marketing; trade shows; small business accounting and more.  Did we make some mistakes?  Yes, plenty.  But each time, we picked ourselves up and chalked it up to a learning experience.

Then in 2014, we had the opportunity to start an artisanal stationery line with my sister which we named F as in Frank Paper Goods.  Suddenly we were running two successful companies and had little time for anything else.  Fast forward to 2019, when my husband had the opportunity to return to school on the East Coast, we had to make some tough decisions.  He was our head pressman and wouldn’t have the time to continue printing.  Also the cost of moving our presses across the country was extraordinarily high.  We sadly said goodbye to our businesses, sold our inventory and beautiful antique printing equipment and drove across the country to start over.

But I’m still an entrepreneur at heart.  I see a small business and immediately have ideas for growth.  I have personally mentored 4 small business owners in Canada and helped them achieve their goals of participating in their first wholesale trade show (and all of them had very successful first shows!).  Wholesale is my true passion and I would love to help you grow your small business!
